Gary James

President/CEO/Director

Gary co-founded QualityLogic and has built it into one of the leading software testing companies in the world. He also co-founded QualityLogic’s predecessor, Genoa Technology, which developed de facto industry standard tests for several vertical markets. Since 1986 Gary has held almost all positions in the company, including president and CEO of the company for several years and guided both Genoa and QualityLogic in developing a continuous flow of innovative, leading-edge software quality assurance and test products and services. Previously, Gary was director of quality assurance at Dataproducts Corp., with responsibility for operations in the U.S., Hong Kong and Puerto Rico. Gary holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Redlands, CA.

Steven Butterfield

Chairman of the Board

Steve is an imaging industry veteran with extensive leadership experience. His long industry career includes: President of Copal Printer Products USA; Senior VP at Fujitsu’s Computer Products of America; President and CEO of Sunrise Imaging; Chief Operating Officer of TelContar; and most recently President and CEO of nextScan in Boise. He has also served as a Director of a number of technology companies.

Steve Kang

General Manager, Sr. VP of Engineering, Smart Energy

As general manager of QualityLogic’s Smart Energy business, Steve oversees all aspects of the company’s Smart Energy, Imaging, and Fax/Telecom products. His long history directing and managing engineering organizations includes positions at Sun Microsystems, Xerox Corporation, and Colorbus. Steve has developed technical strategy and managed both engineering and software application development groups. He holds an MS in computer science from USC and an MBA from UCLA Anderson School.

James Mater

Director of Strategy, Smart Grid / Director

James co-founded QualityLogic and is currently the director of strategy for QualityLogic’s Smart Energy business. From 2001 to 2008, James oversaw QualityLogic as President and CEO. From 1994 to 1999, he founded and built Revision Labs, which merged with Genoa Technology to become QualityLogic. Prior to Revision Labs, James held product management roles at Tektronix, Floating Point Systems, Sidereal and Solar Division of International Harvester. He holds a bachelor’s degree in physics from Reed College, Portland, OR and an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Jim Zuber

Chief Technology Officer

Jim is a co-founder of QualityLogic and its predecessor, Genoa Technology. Many of the testing products Jim architected for the company have become de facto testing standards in the smart grid, imaging, facsimile, and telephony industries. His latest efforts in 3D imaging testing are set to become industry standards in that arena, as well. He served as president of Genoa for many years before its merger with Revision Labs Inc. to form QualityLogic. Prior to Genoa, he was co-founder and chief technical officer of Blue Chip Software, where he wrote the official simulation of the American Stock Exchange, which was co-branded with the Amex. The company was sold to Compton’s New Media in 1986. Prior to this Jim held many management Engineering and QA positions with Dataproducts, Corp.

Bill Campbell

Board Member

Bill is a partner at Ater Wynne LLP, a Portland, OR law firm, and was its chairman from 2001 to 2005. Currently, he serves as general counsel for public and private emerging-growth companies in Internet and telecommunications, software, integrated circuit design, test and measurement hardware, Smart Energy and biotechnology. He is a graduate of Yale and Yale Law School.

Joe Walker

General Manager, Test Operations

Joe joined GenRev Labs in 1997 as a project manager and was promoted to Lab Manager two years later. In 2016, Joe was tapped to head all Services Operations, overseeing Boise, Oklahoma City and Simi Valley Labs, as well as teams based at customers’ sites. A past Microsoft Certified Professional and Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, Joe has extensive knowledge and experience with a wide variety of operating systems and applications. Prior to joining the Boise Lab, Joe worked for Alternative Resource Corporation, providing client and network support for HP. Joe served in the U.S. Air Force from 1987 to 1997 as Electronics and Flight Control Computer Systems Specialist and Computer Support/Network Administration Technician and is a veteran of the Gulf War.
